… dear friends …
Yup, I swam again today. But not till after an encounter with John and Reg, who walk the beach early each morning …
I’m not the only one still bathing. One of my new beach friends, Mona, dips in the surf most days … she’s letting fly here with an almighty yell as she hits the water
… I’m not quite so demonstrative, but I feel the same …
This Morning’s Stats:
Temperature: 13ºC
Pool: 21ºC. The water isn’t all that comfortable at first, but after a few moments it’s not really a problem. It’s the air. But at least it didn’t rain, and as I write this I can hear it bucketing down outside. Got to say I’m a bit over all this moisture, even if clouds are very photogenic.
Me: Feeling great, but a little concerned over continued Blogger’s Shoulder. Have booked a massage for Friday.
Tide: Low
Moon: About three quarters … it was sinking over the cliff as I had my swim
Wildlife: Cormorants. I looked up my bird book and the black ones are called ‘little black’ while the white breasted ones are called ‘little pied’. Just in case you were wondering.

hello
i really love your pictures
Thanks very much … I enjoy taking them …
Hey beachblogger – well done on the front page of wordpress – and the blog. I should post the almost identical pic of our ocean pool at Austinmer complete with pied cormorants, terns, black cormorants, sooty-faced oyster catchers and a pair of ospreys. Same same but different
. I am still swimming… last year I made it right through but a swimming cap is essential. Bracing myself to do it again! Big hugs sxx
Sounds like Austinmerre is a tad purer and cleaner than Newport … more bird varieties to say the least … yes I’ve been told a silicon cap is important … also I’ve chickened out and bought a wetsuit top, albeit only 1mm … but it’s next to useless really, just keeps the wind at bay … xx
