Wandered the beach this morning thinking why can’t I stop sneezing?
In between blowing my nose and putting the tissue away, these aloes caught my eye … they’ve escaped from someone’s garden and are running wild up the cliff on Newport’s southern headland … must get a cutting so they can run amok somewhere in my garden too …
I put the sneezing down to a bit of hayfever … the dry nor-westerly wind aggravating my easily inflamed nasal passages …
How wrong can you be?
As I reached for my twentieth tissue later on in the morning I remembered the sore throat I’d had for the last few days and came out of denial … it’s a cold ...
I guess that explains why I’ve been feeling a bit low recently … lucky I didn’t push things and make myself get into the water, although maybe it would have cured me? Not.
This isn’t meant to be happening! It’s not part of the plot of this blog! I’m meant to go from strength to strength all through winter, emerging triumphant at the end of my quest … which should finish with the sounds of champagne corks popping, not be interrupted by a sore thumb and a sniffle …
This Morning’s Stats:
Temperature: About 11º but lower in reality due to wind chill factor …
Pool: Looking cold
Me: Feeling extremely average
Tide: Extra low
Moon: Peeked out of my front door last night and saw a beautiful new slice of moon, with it’s half lit shadow showing clearly against the black sky …
Surf: Flat
Here’s a photo of what I wasn’t doing at 7 am today …

I didn’t know that Aloes flowered. A gorgeous shot of flowering Aloe Veras.
Yes, it certainly was chilly this morning – good for staying snug and warm somewhere inside, I think. Good for you in getting down to the beach.
Social Graces
I’m not sure what sort of Aloes they are … they may be a different variety from the one you use for burns …
Cut yourself some slack BTB – I think it’s amazing you’re up and about so early in winter…don’t know how you do it!
Hope you feel better soon – hit the Mega B! : )
I’m hitting mega everything … hoping for results soon …
